Vice Captain Imran Injured

The vice captain of Maldivian National Football team, goalkeeper Imran has suffered from a serious ligament injury in his left knee. According to Imran he has consulted doctors from Malaysia in this regard, the doctors confirm that the injury is serious and needs to be operated, as it is a ligament tear.

These kinds of injuries are very common in footballers. We consulted a professional trainer to find out the main course of this injury...

"Mostly the reason is our athletes do not concentrate on a proper training cycle, like doing a proper off season weight training for strength and muscular development. Due to this the muscles have no strength to cope with the repetitive usage athletes under go during the season, this is what happens in most cases"

This injury requires major rehabilitation after surgery, from physiotherapy to careful strength and conditioning before the athlete return to field.

We wish Imran a speedy recovery.
