The Miss World 2007 Final will be held in Sanya, China on Saturday 1st December. The official signing ceremony will be held on 14th June 2007.

The official announcement was published on 30/05/07 confirming the vanue for this years Miss World pageant.

European Bodybuilding Championships

BODYBUILDING OVERALL CHAMPION - Pavel KIRILENKO - Russia

European Bodybuilding Championships were held in Baku, Azerbaijan this months. Over 100 athletes participated in this competitoon. After not so successful years for Russia this year they took the stage and suprised everyone by winning al most all categories and the over all championships.

Mr. Hendhunu Hendhuna

We all know about the morning show Hendhunu Hendhuna, and we all know about fitness segment of the program.

The program began few years ago with the participations of all major fitness centers in the country, namely SHERI, HEAT, MUSCLE LOAD, MALE' FITNESS ... from the first day of the program Mr. Hanim has been in the helm of the program. Presenting and making the programs on different angles of fitness was his major task, and till today he has been working to make the program a success.

For his participation in the hendhunu hendhuna program as a community service to promote fitness in the country we crown him as Mr. Hendhunu Hendhuna.

And our request for Mr. Hanim is explore more possibilities how to make the fitness centers and more fitness professionals participate in the program. As participation of more relative professionals will give us viewers better programs.

MR. YOOSUB ROCKS MUSCLE LOAD CLASSIC

This is the year of Mr. Yoosub, he always had his dream of getting on stage and compete as a bodybuilder. He has been training in a gym for more than 3 years showing his keen interest to compete and win one day.

According to the management of the gym he is one of the most regular person to the gym since he started, who does his workout with great interest. Being a true member at the gym he presented himself as an independent athlete to participate in the Muscle Load Classic 2007 (The annual Muscle Load’s Bodybuilding Championships) where he was placed 2nd in his category. He is a true winner and he has made his dream come true.

The management and staff of the gym where he trains (Male’ Fitness Club) had a treat for Mr. Yoosub to celebrate his achievements. We too congratulate you Mr. Yoosub.

Sports Education ...

A NGO named Sports Education Academy of Maldives has been established. The Academy was developed by the leading sports & fitness professionals in the country. The fouder members of the Academy are Mr. Mohamed Kaleem (Prominant Business Man and Former National Football Caption) and Mr. Hussain Zinan (a leading fitness expert in the country).

According to the academy it has strong contribution from Dr. Hussain Haleem who is a expert in Sports Coaching.

The academy has so far conducted three training courses, 2 course on personal training which 16 students has successfully completed. And a third course for Maldives Police Services on Police Physical Training Instructors which 21 students completed fully.

We wish the academy a great future and wish to bring news on there training courses in the future.

Mr Olympia 2007

Mr. Olympia, Ms. Olympia and Fitness & Figure Olympia will be held on 27th September 2007 at Las Vegas, Las Vegas Convention Center.

The hot news about this years Mr. Olympia is Ronnie Coleman is coming back to take the Sandow from Jay Cutler. The former Mr. Olympia who was defeated by Jay Cutler say “Jay didn’t beat me. He’s just holding the Sandow for me until I take it back, which I will . . . in coming September,” promises Ronnie.....

But Jay’s not looking to relinquish his crown anytime soon. “I worked too long and too hard for this, it’s mine and I’m keeping it,” says a determined Cutler.

WORLD ATHLETICS DAY IN MAAMIGILI

Athletics Association of Maldives will host a ceremony to mark the World Athletics Day in Maamigili this year.

On the events conducted in Maamigili 43 Students from 4 Schools in Ari Atoll will participate, events includes 80m, 150m, 1000m run, shot put and discus throw.

Events will be held this friday.

BROADBAND ROAD RACE

This is great news for Athletic Association of Maldives. Mega companies like "DHIRAAGU" started using exercise to promote their business. We congratulate dhiraagu for this initiation.

The best part of these events are that it promotes healthy living and exercise amoung the people.

We forcast that more business are gonna invest on concepts of healthy living in Maldives.

School "Sports for All" Launching Ceremony

A ceremony was held to inaugurate the "SCHOOL SPORTS FOR ALL" program by the Sports for All section in Ministry of Youth and Sports. the cerenomy was inaugurated by Minister of Youth & Sports Mr. Hussain Hilmy.

In this ceremony the leading sports professional former Olympic Marathon Runner Captian Dr. Hussain Haleem of Maldives National Defence Force gave a presentation on "Imporatnce of Sports for School Children". In this presentation his message indicated that sports is not all about winning but to reap the benifits of phyiscal fitness through participating in sporting actvity.

Mr. Mohamed Hanim, Incharge of the ":Sports for All" at Ministry of Youth and Sports explained the importance of this program for School Children. He also highlighted on how the modern world encourage inactive lifestyle by vedio games and unhealthy snack options and more.

This ceremony was held at Kalafaanu School (22nd May 2007), the ceremony was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Hussain Hilmy, Minister of Education Ms. Zahiya Zareer and other officials of both Ministies.

Muscle Load Classic 2007

The annual Bodybuilding Championships of Muscle Load gymnasium (Muscle Load Classic) was held in MCSE outdoor stage last Friday (18th May 2007). The competition was arranged and organised by the Management of Muscle Load.

A total of 9 competitors participated in this competiton out of which most of the competitors were from Muscle load and 01 competitor from Maldives Poilce Service.

We are looking forward to get the results of this competition.
